AVID

AVID stands for “Advancement Via Individual Determination.” AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college/career readiness and success in a global society. AVID prepares students with: academic skills, content knowledge, individual determination and social adaptability. AVID will emphasize: preparation for college entrance/placement exams, study skills, test-taking, note taking and research. AVID at Paloma Valley is a four-year elective course that offers support for students working towards becoming future college graduates.
